Bishop's Stortford is 27 miles (43 km) north east of Charing Cross in the center of London and 35 miles (56 km) from Liverpool Street station where the railway line from Cambridge to London, which runs through the town, terminates. The town has a population of 38,202.¹

During 1964, The Bishops Stortford Dairy Farmers Ltd., issued their “History of Aviation, Second Series of 25” airplane trading cards. The cards were packaged with their “Choicest Tips Tea”. The cards measure 35.8×67.8 mm, and chronicle a multitude of various types of aircraft from early transports to rocket ships. The card fronts feature aircraft color artwork surrounded by an ample white border and are devoid of any captions. The card fronts are predominately (21 cards) presented in a landscape format with four cards in a portrait format. The subject aircraft are from Great Britain, the United States, Germany, and France. The card Backs are presented in a portrait format, and are printed with a very light green ink. The information on the card Backs are stacked in the following vertical array: (1) set title, (2) series designator and number of cards in the set, (3) card number, (4) aircraft name, (5) descriptive text about the aircraft, and (6) four lines of advertising text.
