When passing through the Village of Mark, Illinois, be sure to stop by and take a look at their Bell AH-1G-BF “HueyCobra” (Army 67-15474, c/n 20139). The aircraft is proudly displayed in the center of town at their Veteran's War Memorial, which was dedicated on 24 September 2005. For a small town of 550, they have done an outstanding job in displaying this aircraft. The Village of Mark is located in North Central Illinois, about 125 miles southwest of Chicago. Mark was incorporated in 1905 and was named after Mark Elliot, who was the son of the farmer who donated the land that Mark is established on. Mark is situated in Putnam County, which is the smallest county in the State of Illinois. ^[1]
