McLean County Museum of History [1]
The Tilbury Flash, a racer plane built in Bloomington in the 1930s, was recovered in 1975 and restored by the Bloomington, Illinois, EAA Chapter. It is now on display at the McLean County Museum of History in Bloomington. The Tilbury Flash Racer (NR12931) set a world speed record for smallest class of planes and it flew in and won aircraft racing competitions. The racing competitions were largely sponsored by governments interested in the military potential for small, highly maneuverable aircraft. The following card image is from the Skytamer Archive.
