Apache Junction, AZ 85220-4373 Photo by David Ritter Chandler City Static Display The City of Chandler has a North American F-86D-35-NA "Sabre Dog" (AF 51-6261) displayed on a pole in a small city park. The park is located on the south side of E. Chandler Blvd. between N. Delaware Street and N. Sacramento street. The coordinates are 33° 18' 20.82" N 111° 50' 14.18" W. Douglas City Static Display The City of Douglas is reported to have two aircraft on display plus a small Air Museum. The two aircraft are a General Dynamics F-16A Block 10 "Fighting Falcon" (AF 79-0312) and a Lockheed T-33A-1-LO "Shooting Star" (AF 52-9608). We were able to locate the F-16A but not the T-33A. The F-16A "Fighting Falcon" is displayed on a pole in the center of what appears to be a City Park. The F-16A static display is bounded by E. 8th Street on the North, Florida Avenue (East), E. 5th Street (South) and Dolores Avenue (West). The one that tops the list is the fact that we were the first international airport of the Americas. One could fly into Douglas and taxi into Mexico and vice-a-versa. The Border Air Museum was a gift to the City of Douglas by the widow of the late Richard Westbrook in 2002. Richard and Irma Westbrook established the Border Air Museum to house his collection of air history that he had researched for a number of years. His labor of love of aviation is seen in the building he created on his own with donations from friends. The City of Douglas begin to open it up on a regular basis in 2007. The museum operates under the Douglas Visitor Center and is maned by volunteers. Duncan City Static Display The City of Duncan has a North American F-100F-10-NA "Super Sabre" (AF 56-3812) displayed on a pole in their Veteran's Memorial Park complex. They are located at the intersection of Hatfield and Irwin Streets on the base. We know that one of the aircraft is a Grumman OV-1D "Mohawk" (Army 67-18930), but we are not able to identify the second aircraft. We need your help to identify and photograph these aircraft ... all three (or more?) of them. Gila Bend City Static Display Gila Bend Municipal Airport 1500 N Highway 85 Gila Bend, AZ 85337 928-683-2733 The Gila Bend Municipal Airport has two McDonnell RF-101C "Voodoos" on display. Both aircraft are located at the entrance to the airport as you turn off Highway 85. They are a McDonnell RF-101C-70-MC "Voodoo" (AF 56-0112) and a McDonnell RF-101C-75-MC "Voodoo" (AF 56-0130). Photos by Ron Strong Gila Bend Air Force Aux Military Base Static Display The Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field has been reported to have two aircraft on display: (1) a Lockheed T-33A "Shooting Star" and (2) a Republic F-105D "Thunderchief." We took a look at the satellite views of the base and were not able to locate these aircraft. However, we did find what appears to be a Republic F-84F "Thunderstreak" on display in a park setting near the center of the airbase. The satellite view is shown below. We need your help to identify and photograph these aircraft ... all three (or more?) of them. Glendale City Static Display Harry Bonsall Sr. Park N. 59th Ave & W. Berridge Lane Glendale, AZ 85301 Glendale has a North American F-100D-15-NA "Super Sabre" (AF 54-2281) on display at the Harry Bonsall Sr. Park. The park is bounded by N. 59th Ave, W. Gila Bend Air Force Aux
Military Base Static Display

The Gila Bend Air Force Auxiliary Field has been reported to have two aircraft on display: (1) a Lockheed T-33A "Shooting Star" and (2) a Republic F-105D "Thunderchief." We took a look at the satellite views of the base and were not able to locate these aircraft. However, we did find what appears to be a Republic F-84F "Thunderstreak" on display in a park setting near the center of the airbase. The satellite view is shown below. We need your help to identify and photograph these aircraft ... all three (or more?) of them.
